A Community-wide Study Circle Initiative
Williamsburg Talks
is a community-wide program in which a large number of racially, economically
and socially diverse citizens participate in study circles.
Mission
Williamsburg Talks seeks to build a culture
of understanding, caring and collaboration among all citizens of Greater
Williamsburg.
Vision
With the participation of 2,000 demographically diverse citizens over
the next five years, Williamsburg Talks will
foster changes in communication patterns between individuals and among organizations and
institutions. This activity will spawn initiatives that bring people together
to improve the community and eliminate
inequities.

- involve 2,000 demographically diverse participants
in study circles over the next five years.
- identify racial problems and issues and
provide participants a more complete picture of the perspectives of
others.
- establish new relationships and coalitions
across racial lines.
- foster the emergence of new leaders.
- energize participants to take full ownership
of the identified problems and to work actively toward solutions.
